On January 16, 1920, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated was founded on the campus of Howard University by five visionary women who dared to depart from the traditional
coalitions for Black women and sought to establish a new organization based on the principals of Scholarship, Service, Sisterhood and Finer Womanhood.
In pursuance of our founders principals, Upsilon Zeta Zeta Chapter is seeking applicants for the following scholarship awards:

● The Mary Leatherman Scholarship

○ Up to two (2) scholarships in the amount of $500 each may be awarded to female high school seniors enrolled in a trade school within the Center, Grandview, Hickman Mills, Kansas City, Lee’s Summit, or Raytown area.

The purpose of the Mary Leatherman Scholarship is to recognize an outstanding woman who strived to assist the ladies of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated, and their youth auxiliary.  Mary Leatherman was an avid supporter, fundraiser, mentor and a key player in supporting Upsilon Zeta Zeta’s youth auxiliary from inception. In honor of her professional work, a Certified Medical Technician (CMT) for over 30 years, applicants must be a high school student enrolled in a trade school such as Herndon Career Center, Manual Career Technical
Center or other district affiliated professional or trade school program.

"THE MARY LEATHERMAN SCHOLARSHIP"

 

On January 16, 1920, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated was founded on the campus of Howard University by five visionary women who dared to depart from the traditional
coalitions for Black women and sought to establish a new organization based on the principals of Scholarship, Service, Sisterhood and Finer Womanhood.
In pursuance of our founders principals, Upsilon Zeta Zeta Chapter is seeking applicants for the following scholarship awards:

● The Mary Leatherman Scholarship

○ Up to two (2) scholarships in the amount of $500 each may be awarded to female high school seniors enrolled in a trade school within the Center, Grandview, Hickman Mills, Kansas City, Lee’s Summit, or Raytown area.

The purpose of the Mary Leatherman Scholarship is to recognize an outstanding woman who strived to assist the ladies of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated, and their youth auxiliary.  Mary Leatherman was an avid supporter, fundraiser, mentor and a key player in supporting Upsilon Zeta Zeta’s youth auxiliary from inception. In honor of her professional work, a Certified Medical Technician (CMT) for over 30 years, applicants must be a high school student enrolled in a trade school such as Herndon Career Center, Manual Career Technical
Center or other district affiliated professional or trade school program.
